Letters of Recommendation

Optometry schools vary in their requirements for letters of recommendation. Most optometry schools will require a minimum of three letters of recommendation; often sending more (if the school will allow) can strengthen your application. The Indiana University School of Optometry requires a minimum of three letters of recommendation. Preferably, two should be from professors who know you well and one is required from an optometrist. You should check with other optometry schools regarding their guidelines on letters of recommendation.
