The Optometry Admission Test (OAT) consists of the following four sections: Survey of the Natural Sciences (Biology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry), Reading Comprehension, Physics, and Quantitative Reasoning.

A fundamental way to begin to prepare for the exam is to review the content of the exam (available on the website below). Review the concepts, ask yourself if you are familiar with them, and if you can apply them. You should prepare intensively through taking repeated practice OAT exams, available in book and CD form.

Examinees must submit an electronic application via the website below prior to scheduling a test date. After submitting the application you will be sent registration authorization information that will allow you to call a testing center and schedule the exam.

For more information on the OAT exam please consult this OAT FAQ.
