Occupational Therapy Club

The Occupational Therapy Club, sponsored by the Health Professions and Prelaw Center, provides pre-OT students, or those who are simply considering OT, the opportunity to arrange and hold meetings with OT admissions representatives, guest speakers, students who have been admitted to OT programs, and others. The club also provides members with the opportunity to network with regards to shadowing and volunteer opportunities. We also occasionally arrange opportunities for members to simply socialize and get to know one another! (There is a small membership fee each of fall and spring semesters for all members, current and new.)

Important: If you are pre-occupational therapy, or even just contemplating a career in OT, please join the OT email list so you will receive timely announcements about upcoming events and information pertinent to the field and to OT programs.

We also recommend that you periodically check the HPPLC Events Calendar for OT-related events and information sessions.

The OT Club officers consist of either a president and vice-president, or two co-presidents; secretary; treasurer; and an undergraduate outreach coordinator. If you are interested in running for a position, please attend the next meeting and ask an officer when the next elections are. You can also email a current officer for more inforamtion:

If you wish to join the OT Club, simply come to our next meeting. We would like to meet you! Be sure to join the OT email list so you are in the loop on all OT related events and updates, including meeting announcements.

Some past events and projects:

-- Students currently enrolled in the OT Graduate Program at IUPUI came to IUB to tell us about their personal school experiences and answer questions about what the OT program is actually like.

-- A practicing OT from First Steps came to discuss her career and the kinds of OT setting she works in.

-- Volunteer activity: Down Syndrome Family Connection walk, sponsored by the Children’s Therapy Clinic.

If would like to get involved or have ideas for club activities, including volunteer or other professional development ideas, please attend the next meeting.
